Two Cases of Holoprosencephaly

Abstract
|
|
|
Holoprosencephaly is complex developmental abnormalities of brain arising from failure of cleavage of the prosencephalon.
Cerebral defect is associated with midface malformation that vary and include cyclopia. cebocephaly, ethmocephaly, median cleft lip, intermaxillary rudiment, hypotelorism.
The possibility of antenatal diagnosis of holoprosencephaly by ultrasonogfam has been suggested, but not confirmed.
We report two cases of lobar holoprosencephaly with its clinical findings and sonographic findings. The diagnosis was confirmed by brain CT scan and.MRI scan which was compatible to lobar type of holoprosencephaly. Review of refeiance concerning holoprosencephaly was made briefly.
